Higgsfield Alternative: 9 AI Video Tools, Free and Paid
Looking for a Higgsfield alternative? Nine AI video tools compared on free tiers, paid plans, MCP and open models. Every price checked 28 October 2026.
Daniel Okafor 11 min read
Higgsfield puts Seedance, Kling, Wan, Nano Banana and its own Soul, Genjutsu and Cinema Studio tools behind one login, and in 2026 it has become one of the most searched AI video brands. The usual reasons people look for a Higgsfield alternative are just as concrete: the $0 tier is marked "Limited use", the cheapest plan is $19 a month on annual billing, and the free generations and promotional model offers only work on higgsfield.ai itself, not through its MCP, CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer. This guide was first published on 15 October 2026 and fully rechecked on 28 October 2026. It covers what Higgsfield charges today, how to pay less for it, and nine other tools sorted by what you actually need: a usable free tier, a cheaper multi-model plan, an MCP connection for an AI assistant, or open models you can run yourself. LazyKiwi is listed first because it is our product; every other entry is described from its own pricing page.
What does Higgsfield cost in October 2026?
Higgsfield sells four individual plans. The pricing page we read on 28 October 2026 lists Starter at $19 a month billed annually with a fixed 270 credits, which the page translates into about 135 Nano Banana Pro images or roughly 15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos. Plus is $47 a month on annual billing (struck through from $59) with 1,200 credits, and Ultra is $99 a month on annual billing (struck through from $129) with a slider that starts at 3,000 credits. Teams start from $65 per seat a month for 2 to 15 seats with a pooled credit balance.

| Higgsfield plan | Price (billed annually) | Credits a month | What the page highlights |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Limited use | 1 concurrent job; most video models not included |
| Starter | $19/mo | 270 | Seedance 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini, selected models only |
| Plus | $47/mo ($59 monthly) | 1,200 | All Seedance models, all models and features |
| Ultra | $99/mo ($129 monthly) | 3,000 and up | Everything in Plus with a larger credit slider |
| Teams | From $65 per seat | From 1,000 per seat | Shared workspace, 2-15 seats, admin spend control |
The compare table further down the page shows what a credit buys. A 5-second Seedance 2.0 clip costs about 22 credits at 720p and about 60 at 1080p, while Kling 3.0 at 1080p is about 8 credits for 5 seconds. That spread is the main thing to understand before comparing Higgsfield pricing with anything else: the number of clips a plan produces depends far more on the model you pick than on the plan name.

Is there a Higgsfield free plan?
Yes, but it is a sampler rather than a working tier. On 28 October 2026 the Free column of the compare table read "Limited use" and allowed one concurrent job, and the Seedance rows were crossed out for Free. Paid plans add a handful of free generations on specific Higgsfield apps: Starter includes 10 free AI Influencer and 10 free Ads Studio generations but "No free gens" for Genjutsu, while Plus and Ultra add 30 AI Influencer generations and 3 free Genjutsu generations at 720p.
A footnote on the same page matters if you work through an assistant: the promotional model offers and free generations "are accessible only via higgsfield.ai and are not accessible on MCP/CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer". So the free side of Higgsfield is real, but small, and tied to its website.
If you only need a few clips a month, check whether one of the free tiers below covers you before buying any plan. Most of them give credits every day or every month instead of once.
How to get Higgsfield cheaper
If Higgsfield itself is the tool you want, three things on its pricing page lower the cost:
- Annual billing on Plus and Ultra. The page says Plus saves $144 a year and Ultra saves $360 compared with monthly billing. Starter shows "No difference compared to monthly", so annual billing does not help on the entry plan.
- Promotions. On the day we checked, Plus and Ultra carried a 7-day offer on Nano Banana 2 and Kling 3.0 with no per-generation credit charge, and a banner advertised a further sign-up discount on Ultra. These change often, so treat them as a bonus, not a plan.
- Model choice. Because Kling 3.0 clips cost a fraction of Seedance 2.0 1080p clips in credits, drafting on the cheaper model and only rendering finals on the expensive one stretches any plan.
If none of that brings the bill where you want it, a Higgsfield free alternative or a cheaper multi-model plan is the better fix, which is what the rest of this guide covers.
Why do people switch away from Higgsfield?
- They want to try AI video without paying first, and a "Limited use" tier is not enough to test a real project.
- They need several models but not the whole Higgsfield suite, and a smaller multi-model plan costs less.
- They work through Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant and need MCP access that includes the free credits.
- They want open models on their own hardware, with no subscription at all.
- They want one-click effects and templates more than a director-style studio.
Each of those needs has a different best answer, so the table below is sorted by job rather than by a single score. We did not run a quality benchmark for this article; the comparison is about what each service offers and charges, as published on its own pricing page on 28 October 2026.

Prices are the lowest paid entry point each vendor printed on the day we checked; first-month offers are labelled as such. Credit units are not comparable between vendors, so the table leaves them out and the sections below quote what each plan says it buys.
LazyKiwi: templates, models and video tools in one place
LazyKiwi runs in the browser and keeps image and video work in one place. Its video generator starts from a prompt, one still image, a pair of first and last frames or a template, and you choose the model per run: Veo 3, Kling, Seedance, Wan and others sit in the same menu. If you were on Higgsfield mainly for Seedance or Kling, the same model families are on the Seedance 2.5 and Kling v3 Omni pages, and you can pick 9:16, 1:1 or 16:9 for each run.

Where it differs most from Higgsfield is the template side. The templates library has 300+ one-click templates and effects, so a viral effect is one photo and one click instead of a prompt. The same workbench also holds editing tools that work on footage you already have: Character Swap replaces a whole person from one photo, AI Video Face Swap detects the faces in your footage and lets you change any of them, and Video to Video restyles a clip while keeping its motion.
On price, the LazyKiwi pricing page on 28 October 2026 shows a $0 plan whose credits top up every month (no card asked), Starter at $12 a month when paid yearly ($144) or $14 month to month, Basic at $29 monthly or $22 yearly, Pro at $75 monthly or $55 yearly, and Ultimate at $120 monthly or $85 yearly. Paid plans add no-watermark exports and commercial use, more parallel tasks, and a faster queue on the higher tiers. The cost of every run is shown before you generate.
Is Higgsfield better than OpenArt?
They solve the same problem, many models in one subscription, with different pricing shapes, so the honest answer depends on volume. OpenArt's pricing page lists Starter at $13 per seat a month billed annually ($14 monthly) with 4,000 credits, which it estimates at up to about 4,000 images or about 50 videos excluding its Director tool, and 8 parallel generations. Plus is $27 a seat yearly with 12,000 credits and commercial use rights, and Pro is $44 with 24,000 credits.

Higgsfield's Starter costs more ($19 yearly) and its page estimates about 135 Nano Banana Pro images or about 15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos. The two companies count with different models, so the numbers are not a like-for-like test, but on their own estimates OpenArt's entry plan covers more volume for less money, while Higgsfield has more in-house tools such as Soul, Genjutsu and Cinema Studio. OpenArt also lists access to the OpenArt MCP on every individual plan, which matters for the next question.
Which Higgsfield AI alternative works with MCP?
Higgsfield has an MCP, but its own footnote keeps the free generations and promotional model offers off it. Two alternatives put MCP on their pricing pages: OpenArt lists "Access to OpenArt MCP" on Starter, Plus, Pro and Wonder, and Runway lists Runway MCP among the Pro plan features.

Runway's Free tier is 125 one-time credits for exploring its tools, and Standard is $12 a month billed annually ($15 monthly) with 625 credits, which the page converts into 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 or 104 seconds of Gen-4 Turbo. Pro is $28 a month annually and adds the MCP, a custom voice clone and Topaz upscaling. If an assistant-driven workflow is the reason you are leaving Higgsfield, check that the plan you pick includes MCP before you subscribe.
Kling AI: the Kling models without a middleman
Many Higgsfield users run Kling clips, and Kling sells its own plans. On 28 October 2026 the membership page offered Standard at $6.99 for the first month, then $8.80 a month, with 660 credits; Pro at $25.99 for the first month, then $32.56, with 3,000 credits; and higher Premier and Ultra+ tiers. There is a Basic $0 tier in the subscription comparison, and each paid plan card lists Element AI Multi-Shot with 3 free uses a day.

Kling 4.0 shows up on Pro and above with a limited-time discount, while Standard lists Video 2.6 with voice control. Buying from Kling directly makes sense if Kling is the only model you use; if you switch models per shot, a multi-model plan saves juggling several subscriptions.
Krea: a free tier that refills every day
Krea's pricing page lists Free at 100 units a day with no credit card, covering its in-house Krea 3 model, Krea Agent and full access to its real-time models. The plan cards mark all image models and all video models as not included on Free: Basic adds all image models and selected video models, and Pro adds all video models. So Free is good for daily image experiments, less so for video. The other limit is volume: Basic, at $5 a month billed yearly, is 5,000 units a month, which the page estimates at about 112 Nano Banana 2 images or about 15 Seedance 2.0 Fast videos.

Pro is $21 a month yearly with 20,000 units (about 65 Seedance 2.5 videos by the page's estimate) and Max is $63 with 60,000 units.
PixVerse, Vidu and Hailuo: cheap entry plans
Three video-first services start well under Higgsfield's Starter price:
- PixVerse runs a daily-credit model on every tier. Its free Basic tier opens with 60 credits, adds 30 each day and renders at up to 540P. The cheapest subscription, Standard, works out at $8 per month on a $96 annual bill ($10 if you pay monthly) and resets 1,200 credits every 30 days on top of 60 daily ones, with no watermark at 720p. Moving up to Pro ($24 per month on the annual bill) brings 4K and opens extra video models such as Seedance 2.5 and Kling 4.0.
- Vidu: the pricing page shows a $0 plan, trial credits on sign-up and credits for logging in each day. Standard is $8.25 a month billed yearly ($99; $10 monthly) with 800 credits, and Premium is $35.42 a month yearly with 3,500. Its Q4 model is priced per second of video.
- Hailuo: the plan picker lists Free at $0 with one-time trial credits for Hailuo models only, Standard at $8.40 a month billed yearly ($100.80; $14.99 monthly) with 1,000 credits, and Pro at $30.40 a month yearly with 4,500. Standard also lists access to Veo 3.1 and Sora 2.

Pika: watermark-free, even on the free plan
Pika's Free plan is unusual: 0 monthly credits and packs only, but all models and no watermark. Paid plans start at Starter, $10 a month billed monthly, with 900 credits and a commercial licence, then Creator at $35 with 3,150 credits. The page's own calculator prices a 5-second 720p Seedance 2.5 clip at 122 credits, so Starter covers about seven of those.

Is there an open-source option instead of Higgsfield?
Yes, if you have a capable GPU and are comfortable with a local install. Wan 2.2 from Wan-Video is an open video generation model released under Apache-2.0 on GitHub, and ComfyUI, a node-based interface for running diffusion models locally (GPL-3.0, about 143,000 GitHub stars on 28 October 2026), is the usual way to run it. There is no subscription, but you supply the hardware and the setup time.
If you like the idea of open models but not the install, our guide to ComfyUI alternatives with no install covers hosted options, and the Wan 2.7 model page shows how the Wan family runs on LazyKiwi in the browser.
When to choose LazyKiwi instead of Higgsfield
- You want to test AI video on a free plan that refreshes every month, with no card.
- Your videos start from a template or an effect more often than from a long prompt.
- You edit footage you already have: swapping a character or a face, or restyling a clip.
- You switch between Veo, Kling, Seedance and Wan and want them in one screen.
Stay with Higgsfield if you depend on its in-house tools such as Soul, Genjutsu or Cinema Studio, or on its MCP and Supercomputer workflow; no alternative here copies those. If you mainly want Higgsfield's Genjutsu style, our Higgsfield Genjutsu guide covers what it is and what it costs.
Free Higgsfield look-alike sites
Searches for a free Higgsfield also surface look-alike domains with similar spellings that promise free access. They are not Higgsfield. If you want the official product, go to higgsfield.ai directly; if you want something free, pick one of the services above, each of which publishes its own pricing page.
Key takeaways
- Higgsfield's Free tier is marked "Limited use" with one concurrent job; Starter is $19 a month billed annually for 270 credits (checked 28 October 2026).
- Annual billing saves $144 a year on Plus and $360 on Ultra, but nothing on Starter.
- Free plans that refresh: LazyKiwi (monthly, video included) and Krea (daily, mostly image models on Free); Runway and Hailuo give one-time trial credits.
- OpenArt and Runway list MCP access on their pricing pages; Higgsfield keeps its free generations off its MCP.
- Wan 2.2 plus ComfyUI is the open-source route, at the cost of your own GPU and setup.

FAQ
Common questions
What is the best Higgsfield alternative?
It depends on the job. For templates, several video models and editing tools on a free monthly plan, LazyKiwi; for a daily free tier for images, Krea; for MCP access, OpenArt or Runway Pro; for open models on your own GPU, Wan 2.2 with ComfyUI.
Is Higgsfield free?
There is a Free tier, but on 28 October 2026 the pricing page marked it "Limited use" with one concurrent job. Working plans start at Starter, $19 a month billed annually.
How do I get Higgsfield cheaper?
Use annual billing on Plus or Ultra (the page says it saves $144 or $360 a year), use time-limited promotions when they run, and draft on lower-cost models such as Kling 3.0 before rendering finals on Seedance 1080p.
Is Higgsfield better than OpenArt?
They count credits with different models, so there is no direct test. On their own pricing pages OpenArt's Starter is cheaper ($13 a seat yearly) and estimates more output, while Higgsfield offers more in-house tools such as Soul, Genjutsu and Cinema Studio.
Is there a Higgsfield alternative with MCP?
OpenArt lists OpenArt MCP on all individual plans and Runway lists Runway MCP on Pro. Higgsfield has an MCP too, but its free generations and promotional model offers are only available on higgsfield.ai.
Is there a free open-source Higgsfield alternative?
Wan 2.2 is an open video model under Apache-2.0, usually run locally through ComfyUI. It costs nothing to download but needs a strong GPU and a technical setup.
